Africa State Of Mind [A.S.O.M] is a song with a beautiful reggae feel by Cixqó Featuring South south finest, Rapper Pompay and singer Steven Tones, which addresses a number of societal issues that are pervasive and entrenched in Africa, including Police brutality and undergraduates being assaulted & harassed all the time by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad [SARS] in Nigeria and the recent Xenophobic Attacks in South Africa.

ASOM also draws inspiration from a true life story, one that happened to Cixqَ and Pompay, after a simple police stop and search in Benin City on their way to the studio almost turned into something else, it motivated them to pour out their heart on a song and they did just that.

The song also calls for unity in Africa and a stop to Xenophobic Attacks [SayNoToXenophobia]. ASOM is comparable to “This Is Nigeria” by Falz.
